Grass-Fed Beef Chili

Serves 6


  • 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 4 cups cooked red beans
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro

Heat a 6-quart pot over medium heat. Add the oil, then add the onions; sauté for about 10 min or until very soft and beginning to change color. Add the garlic, cumin, chili powder, red bell pepper, and ground beef; sauté for a few min. Add the cooked red beans, tomato sauce, water and salt; cover and simmer for about 35 min, stirring occasionally. Stir in chopped cilantro. Taste and adjust salt and seasonings if necessary.
